15th century Armour by lathander1987 15th century Armour by lathander1987
This painting is 15th century English knight plate mail

I refered Osprey 'Henry V and the Conquest of France 1416-1453' to paint this

I combined several styles that appeared in the book.

I tried to painting very realistic based on the study.

the armour seems like good combination of Italian 'Round type' and German 'Gothic type'

I hope you enjoy it.

About the mid fifteenth century, the Germans hired Italians to make armour because they sold better. That left the Italian armour makers bereft of qualified staff, and they hired Germans. So the last half of the fifteenth century gets a muddle of German and Italian Styles. So this i pretty much bang on. You would benefit by examining real armours in museums though. Are there any near where you live?

i really like the Ospey Military Books, the Artwork is
simply ingeniously ( especially Graham Turner, Angus McBride, Gerry Embleton and much more... )

and your work looks also very good, the Breast plate looks very realistic, but the Legs looks a little bit bleary. Altogether a very good work!
